Rehab Prosthodontics and implants, Palarivattom
When many teeth are worn, broken or missing, fixing them one at a time rarely ends. Full mouth rehabilitation plans the whole mouth at once: the bite, the gums and every tooth, rebuilt in stages toward a result you have seen and tested first.
At 32 Sparkles Dental Clinic in Palarivattom, Kochi, full mouth plans are led by our founder, Dr Nikita Menon, a dentist with 19+ years of clinical experience and a focus on full mouth rehabilitation, with our MDS prosthodontist, Dr Krishnapriya.
Broken tooth or lost crown while planning? We keep same-day emergency slots, and urgent problems are treated in a way that fits the wider plan.

01 Overview
Full mouth rehabilitation is a planned rebuild of most or all of the teeth in both jaws, carried out in stages to restore chewing, the bite and the appearance together. It combines treatments such as root canals, gum care, crowns, bridges and implants under one plan, worked out before the first tooth is touched.
The difference from a smile makeover is the starting point. A smile makeover mainly changes how the front teeth look. A full mouth rehabilitation starts from the bite: how the upper and lower teeth meet, how much height has been lost, and how the jaw joints and muscles are coping. The look follows from getting that right.
Because every tooth affects its neighbours and the teeth opposite, treating one tooth at a time often leads to a cycle of repairs. A single plan sets the target bite first, then each stage moves toward it.
Ask to see the planned end result on a model or a temporary mock-up before treatment starts; it is the clearest way to judge the plan.
02 Background
Teeth usually fail together when one cause has acted on all of them for years. Grinding and clenching flatten the biting edges. Acid from reflux or frequent sour drinks softens the enamel. Old fillings and crowns break down at the edges, and decay starts again underneath. Gum disease loosens several teeth at once.
As back teeth are lost or worn, the front teeth take more load and begin to chip, fan out or wear short. The face can look shorter, and some people notice jaw pain or headaches on waking. Many patients in Kochi have had years of single-tooth repairs before anyone looked at the whole mouth.
Finding the cause matters as much as fixing the teeth. If grinding or acid is still active, new crowns will face the same forces, which is why a night guard, reflux care or diet changes are part of the plan.
03 Candidacy
Full mouth rehabilitation suits people with many worn, broken, decayed or missing teeth across both jaws, especially when the bite has collapsed or chewing has become difficult. It also suits people who have had repeated failures of individual crowns and fillings. It is not needed when only a few teeth are affected.
Bring old X-rays and a list of past dental work; they shorten the planning stage.

A full mouth plan at 32 Sparkles Dental Clinic in Palarivattom is built from the treatments each tooth needs. Most plans combine three groups of work, done in a set order.
Getting the mouth healthy: extractions of teeth that cannot be saved, gum treatment, root canal treatment and core build-ups.
Dental implants, bridges or dentures where teeth are missing, planned to support the new bite.
Crowns, onlays or veneers on the remaining teeth, set to the new bite height and tested first in temporaries.
Where all the teeth in a jaw are lost or failing, the rebuild may instead be full mouth dental implants, with fixed teeth on four to six implants per jaw.
We walk you through each stage of the plan with your X-rays and models.

A full mouth rehabilitation at 32 Sparkles Dental Clinic in Palarivattom runs in stages over about three to nine months, depending on how many teeth need treatment and whether implants are involved. It starts with records and a trial of the new bite, and the final crowns are made only after the temporaries feel right.
We take a full set of X-rays, and a 3D scan where implants are possible, plus photographs, digital scans of both jaws and a record of how the jaws meet. The jaw joints and muscles are checked.
The new bite and tooth shapes are designed on models or digitally. A mock-up can be placed over your teeth so you see the planned shape before agreeing.
Teeth that cannot be saved are removed, gums are treated, root canals and build-ups are done, and implants are placed where planned.
Temporary crowns set to the new height are worn for several weeks. This tests chewing, speech and comfort, and changes are made while they are still easy.
The final crowns, bridges or implant teeth are made from the tested temporaries, usually one section at a time, and fitted with a careful bite check. A night guard is made at the end.
Give the temporaries a fair trial and report anything that feels wrong; the final crowns copy them, so this is where the bite is fine-tuned.
06 Cost
In Kochi, full mouth rehabilitation has no single price, because it is the sum of the treatment each tooth needs. A plan with crowns on most teeth and a few root canals commonly runs from about ₹80,000 to ₹2,50,000 in porcelain fused to metal, and more in zirconia or with implants. These figures are worked out from per-tooth Kochi price ranges, not a quotation from 32 Sparkles Dental Clinic.
| Part of the plan | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Crown, porcelain fused to metal | ₹3,500 to ₹10,000 per tooth |
| Crown, zirconia | ₹6,000 to ₹30,000 per tooth |
| Root canal treatment | ₹3,000 to ₹12,000 per tooth |
| Implants, gum treatment, extractions | Quoted after assessment |
| Night guard | Quoted with the plan |
20 PFM crowns at ₹3,500 to ₹10,000 each, plus 4 root canals at ₹3,000 to ₹12,000 each, comes to about ₹82,000 to ₹2,48,000.
24 zirconia crowns at ₹6,000 to ₹30,000 each comes to about ₹1,44,000 to ₹7,20,000, before any root canals or implants.
The examples are simple multiplication of the per-tooth ranges; your plan may need more or fewer teeth treated. The material chosen for the back teeth makes the largest difference to the total.
Your final cost depends on several factors, including the number of teeth treated, whether implants are needed and the materials chosen. An in-person evaluation with X-rays is required before we can give you an estimate.
Because treatment runs over months, payment is usually staged with each phase. Ask at the front desk whether EMI is available.
Ask for the plan to be priced in phases; it shows what is urgent and what can be spread over time without harming the result.
You get a phased written estimate before any treatment starts.

The first full mouth consultation at 32 Sparkles takes about 45 to 60 minutes. We take your medical and dental history, examine every tooth, the gums, the bite and the jaw joints, and take X-rays. You leave with an outline of the problems and the likely stages.
Tell us about grinding, reflux, diabetes, blood thinners and any jaw pain. Past dental records and X-rays help, as do photographs of your smile from some years ago.
A detailed plan with a phased estimate follows after the records visit, once the scans and models have been studied. Nothing irreversible is done until you have agreed to it.
09 Honest limits
A full mouth rebuild is the wrong plan when the cause of the damage is still active and uncontrolled, when the gums are not yet healthy, or when the problems are limited to a few teeth that can be treated on their own. Crowning healthy teeth to match a few damaged ones is rarely justified.
Crowned teeth also carry long-term upkeep. A systematic review found that about 94 out of 100 metal-ceramic crowns were still in place after five years, and conventional bridges did well over ten. Over decades, some crowns will need replacing, and teeth under them can still decay at the edges.
We suggest a smaller or different plan when:
Ask your dentist which teeth in the plan are healthy; a good plan leaves sound teeth alone wherever the bite allows.
10 Aftercare
A rebuilt bite is protected by a night guard, daily cleaning around every crown edge and regular reviews. Wear the guard every night if you grind, clean between teeth with floss or interdental brushes, and come for check-ups every six months with X-rays as advised.
The new bite can feel unfamiliar while muscles adapt. Note any tooth that hits first or aches, and come in for an adjustment early.
Wear the night guard from the first night. Clean under any bridge or implant teeth daily with the tools shown at fitting.
A general dentist review checks crown edges, gums and the bite, with a professional cleaning.
Keep control of the original cause, whether grinding, reflux or sugar intake, so the new teeth do not wear the same way.

15 Visiting Kochi
A full mouth plan is usually split across two or three trips home. The first trip covers records, planning and foundation work; later trips cover the final restorations once implants have healed and the temporaries have been tested.
Send us your X-rays and the dates you are available on WhatsApp before you travel. We will tell you what can be finished on each trip and how the temporaries will hold up while you are away.
16 FAQ
Usually three to nine months. Plans without implants can finish in a few months; plans with implants take longer because the implants need time to heal before the final teeth are made.
Not always. Teeth that are healthy and in the right position can be left alone or treated with smaller restorations. The plan treats what the bite needs, not every tooth by default.
No. Temporary crowns, bridges or dentures are fitted at each stage, so you have teeth throughout and can test the new bite before the final work.
No. Full mouth implants replace all the teeth in a jaw with fixed teeth on implants. Full mouth rehabilitation keeps and restores your own teeth where possible, using implants only where teeth are missing.
Mostly, with care. Avoid very hard and sticky foods, as temporaries are weaker and held with softer cement. A temporary that comes off should be refitted promptly.
Grinding is a common cause of worn teeth. A guard spreads the force at night and protects the new crowns from chipping, so it is part of the plan for anyone who grinds.
Sometimes. If jaw or muscle pain is linked to a collapsed or uneven bite, restoring the bite can help. The jaw joints are assessed first, and some jaw pain needs other treatment.
Yes. Plans are phased, with urgent treatment first. Later phases can be scheduled to suit your time and budget, as long as temporaries are maintained in between.
